Selective Herbicide
TEMBOTRIONE 34.4% SC
Provides post-emergence control of annual grasses and broad-leaved weeds in maize fields. Ensures rapid and long-lasting weed suppression through inhibition of carotenoid biosynthesis.
Target Weeds
Grass & Broad-leaf
Mode of Action
HPPD Inhibitor
Crops
Maize (Corn)
Active: Tembotrione
Formulation: 34.4% SC
Action: Post-Emergence
Product Information
Mode of Action
Tembotrione inhibits the enzyme 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), which is essential in carotenoid biosynthesis. This inhibition leads to the bleaching of leaves and subsequent death of susceptible weeds. It is absorbed mainly through foliage and translocated within the plant system.
Target Weeds
- Echinochloa spp.
- Trianthema spp.
- Brachiaria spp.
Recommended Dosage
| Crop | Weed Species | Dosage (ml/ha) | Water (L) | PHI (Days) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maize | Trianthema portulacastrum, Echinochloa sp., Brachiaria sp. | 286 | 500 | 55 |
Dosage refers to ml of formulation per hectare. PHI = Pre-Harvest Interval (Waiting period).
Application Instructions
1. Mixing
This product is a Suspension Concentrate (SC). Shake the bottle well. Mix the required quantity (286 ml) in a small amount of water to make a slurry, then add to the main tank with agitation.
2. Timing of Application
Apply as a post-emergence spray when weeds are in the 2-4 leaf stage. The “bleaching” effect on weeds will become visible a few days after application.
Safety Precautions
Warning: Use personal protective equipment (gloves, mask, goggles). Avoid spray drift to non-target broad-leaved crops as it causes bleaching. Wash equipment thoroughly after use.
