Specialized Sucking Pest Insecticide

NITENPYRAM 50% + PYMETROZINE 25% WP

A combination insecticide containing two complementary active ingredients with different modes of action for superior control of sap-sucking pests. This Wettable Powder (WP) formulation provides a rapid knockdown effect combined with long-lasting feeding inhibition for comprehensive pest management and resistance prevention.

Target Pests
Planthoppers & Aphids
Mode of Action
Nerve + Feeding Blocker
Crops
Rice, Cotton, Veg
Active: Nitenpyram + Pymetrozine Formulation: WP (Wettable Powder) Action: Systemic & Feeding Inhibition

Product Information

Dual Mode of Action

Nitenpyram (Neonicotinoid): Disrupts nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect nervous system. It causes paralysis and death with extremely quick action (Rapid Knockdown).

Pymetrozine (Pyridine Azomethine): A selective feeding inhibitor that disrupts the salivary pump mechanism of sap-sucking insects. This mechanically prevents them from inserting their stylet and feeding on plant fluids.

Synergy: Within 3 hours of application, pest feeding activity is reduced by ~90%. Near complete mortality occurs after 48 hours, with residual effectiveness lasting over 20 days.

Target Pests
  • Rice Planthoppers (BPH, WBPH, GLH)
  • Aphids
  • Whiteflies
  • Leafhoppers
  • Thrips
Key Benefits

Stops virus transmission by halting feeding immediately. Effective against pests resistant to conventional insecticides. Safe for beneficial insects in rice ecosystems.

Application Areas

Primary Crops
  • Rice (Paddy): Highly effective against Brown Planthopper (BPH) and Green Leafhopper (GLH).
  • Vegetables: Tomato, Chilli, Brinjal, Okra.
  • Potatoes: Aphid control.
  • Cotton: Whitefly and Jassid control.
  • Fruit Crops: Mango hoppers.
  • Ornamentals & Tobacco
Application Strategy

Ideal for use at the seedling stage or early infestation stage to prevent population buildup and viral disease transmission.

Directions for Use

1. Mixing Instructions
Pre-mix the required quantity of Wettable Powder (WP) in a small amount of water to make a paste/slurry. Add this to the spray tank filled with water while stirring. Ensure the powder is completely suspended.
2. Application Technique
Direct the spray towards the base of the plant (especially for Rice Planthoppers) and the underside of leaves (for Aphids/Whiteflies). Good coverage is essential for the contact action of Nitenpyram and ingestion of Pymetrozine.
3. Weather Considerations
Do not spray if rain is expected within 3-4 hours. Avoid spraying during the heat of the day to minimize drift and evaporation.

Safety & Storage

Precautions: Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, mask, and goggles. Do not inhale the powder dust during mixing.

Environmental Safety: Toxic to aquatic organisms; do not contaminate water bodies. Generally safe for spiders and predatory bugs in rice fields, aiding in IPM.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and moisture. Keep container tightly closed.
