Triazole Fungicide
MYCLOBUTANIL 10% WP
A systemic triazole fungicide with strong preventive and curative properties. It provides excellent control of powdery mildew and other foliar diseases, featuring good residual activity and unique vapor-phase action for comprehensive coverage.
Target Disease
Powdery Mildew, Scab
Mode of Action
Ergosterol Inhibitor
Crops
Apple, Grape, Chilli
Active: Myclobutanil
Formulation: WP (Wettable Powder)
Action: Systemic & Curative
Product Information
Mode of Action
Myclobutanil inhibits ergosterol biosynthesis by blocking the C14-demethylase enzyme (sterol demethylation inhibitor). This disruption of the fungal cell membrane integrity prevents spore germination, mycelial growth, and further disease development. It exhibits strong systemic, translaminar, and vapor-phase movement.
Target Diseases
- Powdery mildew (Various species)
- Scab (Venturia inaequalis)
- Leaf spot diseases
- Die-back
Key Benefits
Vapor-phase activity allows the fungicide to reach areas of the canopy that direct spray might miss. Excellent curative action stops established infections.
Recommended Dosage
| Crop | Disease | Concentration | Water / Rate | PHI (Days) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apple | Scab | 0.04% | 10 Lit / tree | 21 |
| Grape | Powdery Mildew | 0.04% | 500 Lit / ha | 15 |
| Chillies | Powdery Mildew, Leafspot, Die-back | 0.04% | 500 Lit / ha | 03 |
Dosage Note: The concentration is 0.04%, which generally equates to 40g per 100 Liters of water. For a standard 500L/ha spray volume, this is approximately 200g/ha.
Application Instructions
1. Timing
Apply at disease onset or preventively during susceptible growth stages. Its curative properties allow it to arrest infection even if applied shortly after the disease appears.
2. Coverage
Ensure adequate water volume for the crop canopy. The vapor-phase action helps redistribute the active ingredient within the crop canopy.
Safety Precautions
Harvest Interval: Adhere strictly to the PHI: 21 days for Apple, 15 days for Grapes, and 3 days for Chillies.
Resistance Management: Myclobutanil is a Group 3 fungicide (DMI). Rotate with fungicides of different modes of action to prevent resistance development.
