Mode of Action

Metiram acts as a broad-spectrum multi-site inhibitor. It releases active dithiocarbamate compounds that interact with multiple thiol-containing enzymes and cellular metabolic processes in the fungus. This non-specific action prevents spore germination and mycelial growth while presenting virtually no risk of resistance development.

Application Instructions

1. Timing
Apply preventively before disease symptoms appear. Repeat at 7-14 day intervals depending on disease pressure and rainfall.
2. Coverage
As a contact fungicide, complete coverage of the plant foliage is critical for effectiveness. Use the recommended water volumes (500-750 L/ha for field crops, higher for orchards).

Safety Precautions

Harvest Interval: Strict adherence to PHI is necessary. Note the long waiting periods for Mango (64 days), Rice (51 days), and Soybean (35 days).

Resistance Management: FRAC Group M3. Ideal tank-mix partner for systemic fungicides to prevent resistance development.
