Product Information
Mode of Action
Metazosulfuron inhibits the ALS (Acetolactate Synthase) enzyme, which disrupts the synthesis of essential amino acids and halts cell division in susceptible weeds. It is systemically absorbed by both foliage and roots and translocated throughout the plant.
Target Weeds
- Echinochloa spp. (Grasses)
- Cyperus difformis (Sedge)
- Fimbristylis spp. (Sedge)
- Ammania spp. (Broad-leaf)
- Monochoria vaginalis (Broad-leaf)
Recommended Dosage
| Crop | Target Weed Type | Dosage (g/ha) |
|---|---|---|
| Rice (Transplanted) | Sedges, Broad-leaf, Grasses | 120 – 150 |
| Wheat, Barley, Oats | Sedges, Broad-leaf | 120 – 150 |
| Sugarcane | Sedges, Broad-leaf | 120 – 150 |
Recommended dosage is 120–150 grams per hectare. Adjust water volume based on crop density and application method.
Application Instructions
1. Mixing
This product is a Water Dispersible Granule (WG). Pre-mix the required granules in a small amount of water to dissolve them completely before adding to the main spray tank. Agitate well.
2. Timing of Application
Apply as a post-emergence herbicide when weeds are in the early growth stages. For rice fields, drain the water before spraying and re-flood 24-48 hours after application for optimal weed control.
Safety Precautions
Warning: Wear full protective clothing during application. As an ALS inhibitor, repeated use of the same mode of action may lead to resistance; consider rotating with other herbicides. Toxic to aquatic organisms.
