HRAC Group 29 Action
Product Information
Mode of Action
Indaziflam is an HRAC Group 29 cellulose biosynthesis inhibitor (CBI). It disrupts cellulose synthase complexes at the plasma membrane, blocking cell wall formation during early seedling development and preventing weed emergence. Strong soil binding provides residual suppression for several months.
Target Weeds
- Germinating broadleaf weeds
- Germinating annual grass weeds
- Broad-spectrum weed flushes
- Early-season weeds in sugarcane
Recommended Application Guidance
| Crop / Area | Target Weeds | Application Guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Orchards / Plantation Crops | Annual grasses and broadleaf weeds | Apply prior to weed emergence, as the herbicide targets germinating seedlings and root development; young seedling roots contacting the herbicide after germination are killed. |
| Non-crop / Turf Areas | Broad spectrum weed flushes | Apply before weed germination for most effective control; requires rainfall or irrigation activation to move into the weed seed germination zone. |
| Sugarcane | Early-season grass and broadleaf weeds | Apply pre-emergence to establish a residual weed-control layer through the critical early crop establishment period. |
For specific g/ha or ml/ha dosage rates and local activation guidelines across registered crops, please refer to the registered product label or consult local agronomic specialists.
Application Instructions
1. Pre-Emergence Timing & Residual Barrier Establishment
Apply prior to weed germination to establish a persistent residual herbicide barrier in the upper soil profile. In sugarcane, apply pre-emergence to protect crop establishment through the critical early weed-free period.
2. Moisture Activation & Soil Incorporation
Ensure application is followed by rainfall or overhead irrigation to incorporate the herbicide into the weed seed germination zone. Avoid disturbing the soil surface post-application to maintain the protective barrier.
Safety & Environmental Care
Always wear proper personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles, mask, protective suit) during handling, mixing, and application. Highly toxic to aquatic organisms with long-lasting effects; prevent chemical drift or runoff into nearby water bodies, streams, and drainage ditches. Store in original sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location away from foodstuffs, drink, and animal feed.
