Herbicide
FORAMSULFURON 8% OD
A selective post-emergence Oil Dispersion (OD) herbicide that provides effective control of annual grasses and selected broadleaf weeds in maize. Rapidly absorbed through foliage and translocated throughout the plant to ensure effective and long-lasting weed management.
Target Weeds
Echinochloa crus-galli, Digitaria sanguinalis, Setaria, Eleusine, Amaranthus, Chenopodium & Commelina
Mode of Action
HRAC Group 2 / Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) Enzyme Inhibition
Use Sites / Crops
Maize (Corn)
Active: Foramsulfuron
Formulation: OD (Oil Dispersion)
Selective Post-Emergence Systemic
HRAC Group 2 Action
Product Information
Mode of Action
Foramsulfuron (HRAC Group 2) inhibits the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, blocking the biosynthesis of essential branched-chain amino acids required for plant cell growth and division. Susceptible weeds stop growing shortly after application, display chlorosis, and die gradually.
Target Weeds
- Echinochloa crus-galli (Barnyardgrass)
- Digitaria sanguinalis (Crabgrass)
- Setaria spp. (Foxtails)
- Eleusine indica (Goosegrass)
- Amaranthus spp. (Pigweed)
- Chenopodium album
- Commelina benghalensis
- Annual grasses and selected broadleaf weeds
Recommended Application Guidance
| Crop | Target Weeds | Dosage & Method of Application |
|---|---|---|
| Maize | Annual grasses and selected broadleaf weeds | Apply as a post-emergence spray when the crop is at the 2–8 leaf stage and weeds are actively growing. Ensure uniform spray coverage and apply at the recommended label dosage for optimum weed control. |
For specific ml/ha dosage rates and local spray volume recommendations in maize, please refer to the registered product label or consult local agricultural extension specialists.
Application Instructions
1. Post-Emergence Crop Stage Timing (2–8 Leaf Stage)
Apply as a post-emergence foliar spray when maize is in the 2–8 leaf stage and target weeds are actively growing for maximum systemic uptake.
2. Uniform Canopy Spray Coverage
Ensure thorough and uniform spray coverage across weed foliage using calibrated boom sprayers. High leaf contact optimizes the activity of the oil dispersion formulation.
Safety & Environmental Care
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles, face mask, protective suit) during handling, mixing, and application. Avoid spray drift onto non-target crops and nearby water bodies. Store in original sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location away from food, drink, and animal feed.
