Insect Growth Regulator
FLUFENOXURON 10% DC
A selective insect growth regulator (IGR) with chitin synthesis inhibition activity. It provides excellent long-term control through ovicidal and larvicidal effects with minimal impact on beneficial organisms, making it ideal for Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Target Pest
Mites, Borers, Whiteflies
Mode of Action
Chitin Inhibitor (IGR)
Crops
Cotton, Veg, Tea, Fruits
Active: Flufenoxuron
Formulation: DC (Dispersible Concentrate)
Action: Ovicidal & Larvicidal
Product Information
Mode of Action
Flufenoxuron inhibits chitin synthesis by blocking the incorporation of N-acetylglucosamine into the chitin polymer. This prevents proper cuticle formation during molting, causing the death of immature stages and rendering eggs non-viable.
Target Pests
- Whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci)
- Leafminers (Liriomyza spp.)
- Fruit borers (Helicoverpa armigera)
- Red spider mites (Tetranychus spp.)
- Tea mosquito bug (Helopeltis spp.)
Key Benefits
Excellent residue profile and high selectivity, making it safer for beneficial insects and predators.
Recommended Dosage
| Crop(s) | Target Pest | Dosage / Ha (ml) | Water (L/Ha) | Waiting Period (Days) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rose | Mites | 500 | 500 – 1000 | 06 |
Note: While widely used on Cotton, Vegetables, and Tea, the specific dosage table provided pertains to Rose. Consult the product leaflet for rates on other registered crops.
Application Instructions
1. Timing
Apply at the egg-laying stage or early larval instars. As an IGR, it does not kill adults immediately but sterilizes eggs and kills molting larvae, so early application is crucial.
2. Coverage
Ensure thorough coverage of the foliage, especially the undersides of leaves where mites and whiteflies reside. High water volume (up to 1000L/Ha) is recommended for dense canopies like Rose.
Safety Precautions
IPM Compatible: Minimal impact on beneficial organisms allows for natural pest control mechanisms to function.
Harvest Interval: A short waiting period of 6 days for Rose allows for flexibility in harvest schedules.
