Insect Growth Regulator (IGR)
DIFLUBENZURON 25% WP
An advanced IGR belonging to the benzoylurea group. It disrupts chitin synthesis, preventing proper molting in immature insects. Ideal for integrated pest management (IPM) with high selectivity towards beneficial insects.
Group
Benzoylurea
Selectivity
Beneficial Insect Safe
Properties
Ovicidal & Larvicidal
Active: Diflubenzuron
Formulation: 25% WP (Wettable Powder)
Action: Chitin Synthesis Inhibitor
Mode of Action
Diflubenzuron inhibits chitin biosynthesis required for exoskeleton formation. Treated larvae cannot complete the molting process, leading to death. It exhibits excellent ovicidal and larvicidal properties with translaminar activity.
Application & Habitat Dosage
| Pest | Habitat | Dosage | Dilution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mosquito Larvae | Clean Surface Water | 25-50 g a.i./ha | – |
| Polluted Surface Water | 50-100 g a.i./ha | – | |
| Sewage pits, Soak pits, Latrines, Septic tanks | 01.0 mg a.i./liter | – | |
| House fly Maggots | Poultry manure, garbage, filth & dumping areas | 5.0 gm/10 m² | 05 liters water/10m² |
Why choose Diflubenzuron?
- Target Specific: Acts only on insects during their molting phase.
- IPM Compatible: Selective towards beneficial insects and predators.
- Multi-Stage Control: Effective against both eggs (ovicidal) and larvae (larvicidal).
- Public Health: Highly effective in stagnant and polluted water bodies for mosquito control.
