Active: Diafenthiuron
Formulation: 50% WP (Wettable Powder)
Action: Translaminar & Fumigant
Product Information
Mode of Action
Diafenthiuron acts as a pro-insecticide; it is metabolically activated within the pest (and by sunlight) into a carbodiimide derivative. This active form disrupts mitochondrial ATP synthesis (energy production), causing paralysis and rapid mortality. Its strong fumigant and translaminar action allows it to reach pests on the underside of leaves.
Target Pests
- Whiteflies, Aphids, Jassids, Thrips
- Red Spider Mites, Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Mites)
- Diamondback Moth (DBM)
- Capsule Borer (Cardamom)

Application Instructions
1. Mixing
This product is a Wettable Powder (WP). Pre-mix the required quantity in a small bucket of water to form a slurry/paste before adding it to the main spray tank. Agitate continuously during spraying.
2. Timing & Sunlight
Diafenthiuron is most effective when applied during bright, sunny weather, as UV light helps activate the chemical. Apply at the ETL (Economic Threshold Level) for best results. Ensure underside leaf coverage for mites and whiteflies.
Safety Precautions
Warning: Wear personal protective equipment (gloves, mask, goggles). Toxic to aquatic organisms. Do not spray near water bodies. Adhere strictly to PHI guidelines, especially for export crops like Cardamom and Vegetables.
