Mode of Action
Energy Blocker (QiI)
Crops
Potato, Tomato, Cucurbits
Active: Cyazofamid
Formulation: 20% SC (Suspension Concentrate)
Action: Preventive
Product Information
Mode of Action
Cyazofamid blocks energy production in oomycete pathogens (QiI inhibitor), effectively stopping spore germination and early infection. While it has moderate translaminar and curative activity, it is most effective as a preventive treatment.
Target Diseases (Oomycetes Only)
- Late Blight (Phytophthora infestans)
- Downy Mildew (Pseudoperonospora cubensis)
- Downy Mildew (Peronospora spp.)
- Pythium Root Rot & Damping-Off
- Root Dysfunction (Turf)
Recommended Crops
| Crop | Target Disease | Application Note |
|---|---|---|
| Potato, Tomato | Late Blight | Apply preventively. |
| Cucumber, Cucurbits | Downy Mildew | Apply before disease onset. |
| Onion, Lettuce | Downy Mildew | Preventive application required. |
| Peppers, Ornamentals, Rice | Pythium, Phytophthora | Refer to label for specific rates. |
Dosage Note: Dosage rates (ml/ha) are not specified in general text. Please refer to the specific product label or local leaflet for precise application rates based on crop stage.
Application Instructions
1. Timing
Apply before disease appearance or at the very early stages of infection. Cyazofamid is primarily a protectant; do not wait for the disease to become established.
2. Resistance Management
Because of its unique mode of action, Cyazofamid is excellent for resistance management programs. Always rotate with fungicides from different chemical groups to prevent resistance development.
Safety Precautions
Warning: Use personal protective equipment. This product is highly specific to Oomycetes and will not control other fungal families (e.g., Rusts or Powdery Mildews). Safe for beneficial insects when used as directed.
