Target Disease
Blights, Mildews, Bunt
Mode of Action
Multi-site Contact
Crops
Rice, Veg, Fruit, Wheat
Active: Copper Sulphate Formulation: SC (Suspension Concentrate) Action: Protective Contact

Product Information

Mode of Action

Copper sulphate releases cupric ions (Cu²⁺) which act as a powerful multi-site toxicant. [Image of copper ion mode of action on fungal cells] These ions disrupt protein function by binding to thiol groups, interfere with cellular respiration, and damage cell membranes. This broad non-specific activity effectively controls fungal spores and bacteria with a very low risk of resistance development.

Target Diseases
  • Fungal: Blights, Mildews, Leaf spots [Image of fungal leaf spot]
  • Bacterial: Bacterial leaf blight, Bacterial spot [Image of bacterial leaf blight]
  • Seed Treatment: Wheat bunt
  • Soil-borne: Damping-off diseases
Key Benefits

The SC formulation offers better coverage and adherence compared to traditional copper powders. Effective against difficult-to-control bacterial infections.

Recommended Dosage

Crop Application Method Dosage Concentration
Vegetables, Fruit Crops, Ornamentals Foliar Spray 1 – 2 kg/ha* 0.2% – 0.3%
Rice, Wheat Foliar Spray 1 – 2 kg/ha* 0.2% – 0.3%
Wheat Seed Treatment (Bunt) 2 – 3 g / kg seed
Dosage Note: *The input specifies 1-2 kg/ha for foliar application. Since this is an SC (liquid) formulation, check if the label implies Liters/ha or if it refers to the weight of the product. Standard concentration is 2-3 ml per Liter of water.

Application Instructions

1. Foliar Spray
Apply preventively every 10-14 days during disease-prone periods (high humidity, rain). Ensure thorough coverage of the foliage as it is a contact fungicide.
2. Seed Treatment
For control of Wheat Bunt and soil-borne diseases, coat seeds uniformly with the product at a rate of 2-3g per kg of seed before sowing.

Safety Precautions

Phytotoxicity: Copper can be phytotoxic. Avoid application during flowering or on young, tender plant tissues. Do not spray during very hot or dry conditions.

Mixing: Do not mix with alkaline products (like lime sulfur or Bordeaux mixture components if not neutralized correctly) or organophosphates, as this can increase phytotoxicity.
