Product Information
Mode of Action
Abamectin activates chloride ion channels in nerve and muscle cells by enhancing gamma-amino butyric acid (GABA) action. This causes hyperpolarization of nerve cells, leading to paralysis and death. Its translaminar movement reaches pests on leaf undersides.
Target Pests
- Two-spotted mite (Tetranychus urticae)
- European red mite (Panonychus ulmi)
- Carmine mite (Tetranychus cinnabarinus)
Recommended Dosage
| Crops | Target Pest | Dosage / ha (ml) |
|---|---|---|
| Vegetables | Two spotted mite (Tetranychus urticae) | 300 ml |
| Apples, Pears | Two Spotted Mite (Tetranychus urticae), European red mite (Panonychus ulmi) | 750 ml |
| Cotton | Two Spotted Mite (Tetranychus urticae), Carmine mite (Tetranychus cinnabarinus) | 300 ml |
Ensure thorough coverage of foliage, especially the undersides of leaves where mites typically reside.
Application Instructions
1. Mixing & Formulation
Dilute the required quantity of formulation (as per the dosage table) in sufficient water to ensure full coverage of the crop area.
2. Translaminar Benefit
This product moves through the leaf (translaminar activity), providing residual control of pests feeding on the leaf undersides even if they weren’t directly hit by the spray.
Safety Precautions
Abamectin is highly effective but should be handled with care. Toxic to aquatic life and bees. Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during mixing and application.
