Bacterial Leaf Blight, Bacterial Leaf Streak, Bacterial Spot & Canker
Mode of Action
FRAC Group 24 / 30S Ribosomal Subunit Binding & Protein Synthesis Blockade
Use Sites
Rice, Tomatoes, Vegetables, Fruit Crops
Active: Kasugamycin
Formulation: SG (Soluble Granule)
Systemic Antibiotic Action
Early Intervention Control
Product Information
Mode of Action
Kasugamycin inhibits protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing translation and bacterial multiplication. It is classified under FRAC Group 24 (Antibiotics).
Target Diseases
- Bacterial leaf blight
- Bacterial leaf streak
- Rice blast
- Bacterial spot
- Bacterial canker
Recommended Application Guidance
| Crop | Target Disease | Application Guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Rice | Bacterial leaf blight, blast | React quickly to first symptoms — this active performs best as an early intervention rather than a late rescue. |
| Tomato | Bacterial spot | Increase frequency after wind-driven rain, which spreads bacterial inoculum onto foliage. |
| Fruit crops | Bacterial canker | Time applications around pruning wounds and wet periods, the main bacterial entry points. |
For specific g/ha dosage rates and local dilution guidelines across registered crops, please refer to the registered product label or consult local agronomic specialists.
Application Instructions
1. Early Symptom Response & Weather Triggers
Apply promptly at the very first sight of disease symptoms for optimal control, as Kasugamycin is intended for early intervention. Increase application frequency following wind-driven rainfall events that disperse bacterial inoculum across leaf surfaces.
2. Wound Protection & Wound Entry Timing
In fruit crops, time sprays immediately around pruning activities and wet weather events to protect open wounds and natural entry points from bacterial establishment. Ensure SG granules are completely dissolved in water before application.
Safety & Environmental Care
Always wear proper personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles, mask, overalls) during handling, mixing, and spraying. Avoid chemical runoff or spray drift into surface waters, streams, and ponds. Store in original sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location away from foodstuffs, drink, and animal feed.
