Contact Fungicide
FOLPET 50% SC
A multi-site contact fungicide in a Suspension Concentrate (SC) formulation providing reliable protective disease control. It offers excellent tank-mix compatibility and poses a very low risk of resistance due to its non-specific mode of action.
Target Disease
Mildews, Scab, Botrytis
Mode of Action
Multi-site Inhibitor
Crops
Grapes, Apple, Veg
Active: Folpet
Formulation: SC (Suspension Concentrate)
Action: Protective Contact
Product Information
Mode of Action
Folpet acts as a multi-site inhibitor. It releases phthalimide compounds that interact with thiol groups in fungal enzymes, disrupting multiple cellular processes in spores and germinating hyphae. This prevents spore germination and mycelial growth with no single-site resistance development.
Target Diseases
- Downy mildew
- Botrytis (Gray mold)
- Scab (Venturia species)
- Anthracnose
Key Benefits
The SC formulation is easy to measure and mix, offering better tank-mix compatibility with systemic fungicides compared to powders.
Recommended Application
| Crop | Target Disease | Dosage |
|---|---|---|
| Grapes | Downy Mildew, Botrytis, Anthracnose | Refer to Leaflet |
| Apple | Scab (Venturia spp.) | Refer to Leaflet |
| Stone Fruits | Scab, Fruit Rots | Refer to Leaflet |
| Vegetables | Downy Mildew, Leaf Spots | Refer to Leaflet |
Dosage Note: Specific dosage rates (ml/ha) were not provided. Ensure adequate water volume for full canopy coverage, as this is a contact fungicide. Consult the product label for registered rates.
Application Instructions
1. Timing
Apply preventively before disease development. If disease pressure is high or weather conditions favor infection (high humidity/rain), shorten the spray interval to 7 days. Under normal conditions, a 14-day interval is sufficient.
2. Resistance Management
Excellent for use in resistance management programs (FRAC Group M4). It protects systemic fungicides (like strobilurins or SDHIs) from resistance when used in tank mixes.
Safety Precautions
Handling: The SC formulation reduces dust hazards compared to WP, but standard protective equipment (gloves, mask) should still be worn during mixing and spraying.
Environment: Do not apply near water bodies.
