Product Information

Mode of Action

Imidacloprid acts on the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect’s nervous system, causing irreversible blockage, paralysis, and death. Crucially for social insects like termites and ants, it is non-repellent. Insects do not detect the chemical, so they freely enter treated zones. They become contaminated and transfer the toxicant to other colony members through contact and grooming (the “Transfer Effect”), leading to colony elimination.

Target Pests
  • Subterranean Termites (Odontotermes, Microtermes spp.)
  • Mosquito Larvae (Anopheles, Aedes, Culex spp.)
  • Ants (various species)
  • Bed Bugs (Cimex lectularius)
Key Benefits

Excellent residual activity provides long-term protection for structures. The non-repellent formulation ensures comprehensive control of social insect colonies deeper within the structure or soil.

Application Areas

Structural & Public Health Use
  • Termite Management: Pre-construction and post-construction soil treatments around buildings.
  • Vector Control: Treatment of stagnant water bodies for mosquito larvae control.
  • Structural Pest Management: Perimeter treatments for ants and general pests around homes and commercial buildings.
  • Bed Bug Control: Spot treatments in harbourages (as per label directions).

Directions for Use (General Guidelines)

1. Termite Soil Treatment
For subterranean termites, create a continuous chemical barrier in the soil around the building foundation. This typically involves trenching or rodding and injecting the diluted emulsion according to label specified rates per linear meter/area.
2. Perimeter Spray (Ants/General Pests)
Apply as a coarse, low-pressure spray to exterior perimeter areas where pests congregate or enter the structure, such as around doors, windows, utility penetrations, and the foundation wall.
3. Mosquito Larvicide
Apply diluted product directly to vector breeding sites like stagnant water collection points, drains, and non-potable water storage tanks.

Safety & Storage

Precautions: Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, mask, and eye protection during mixing and application. Do not inhale spray mist. Highly toxic to bees and aquatic invertebrates.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area under lock and key. Keep away from food, feed, and children.
