ULV Vector Control Insecticide

DELTAMETHRIN 1.25% ULV

A highly potent synthetic pyrethroid in an Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) formulation designed for space treatment against flying insects. It provides rapid knockdown of disease vectors like mosquitoes and flies with minimal application volume, ideal for large-scale municipal control.

Target Pests
Adult Mosquitoes, Flies
Mode of Action
Rapid Knockdown (Sodium Channel)
Application
Space Spray / Fogging
Active: Deltamethrin 1.25% Formulation: ULV (Ultra Low Volume) Action: Space Spray

Product Information

Mode of Action

Deltamethrin blocks the voltage-gated sodium channels in insect nerve cells. This disruption causes prolonged depolarization, resulting in rapid paralysis (knockdown) and death. The ULV formulation is specifically designed to create a mist of fine droplets that hang in the air, maximizing spatial coverage and contact probability with flying insects.

Target Pests
  • Adult Mosquitoes (Anopheles, Aedes, Culex spp.) – Vectors for Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya.
  • Houseflies (Musca domestica)
  • Sand Flies (Phlebotomus spp.)
Key Benefits

Extremely low dosage required per hectare (active ingredient). Ready-to-use formulation for ULV machines. Non-corrosive and non-staining.

Application Areas & Dosage

Application Areas
  • Urban and Suburban residential areas
  • Municipal vector control programs
  • Disease outbreak zones (emergency control)
  • Refugee camps and disaster relief zones
  • Around industrial and commercial premises
Recommended Dosage

*Refer to equipment manual and local guidelines.

Application Type Target Dosage (Active Ingredient) Flow Rate
Thermal Fogging Adult Mosquitoes 0.5 – 1.0 g a.i. / ha Depends on machine
ULV Cold Fogging (Vehicle) Adult Mosquitoes 0.5 – 1.0 g a.i. / ha
(approx 0.5 L product / ha)
10 – 20 km/h speed
ULV Cold Fogging (Handheld) Indoor / Small Areas

Directions for Use

1. Timing
Apply during times of peak mosquito activity. For Aedes (Dengue), apply in early morning or late afternoon. For Culex/Anopheles, evening or night application is often preferred. Avoid spraying during the heat of the day when thermals can lift the fog away.
2. Weather Conditions
Do not spray if it is raining or if wind speed exceeds 10-15 km/h. Optimal conditions are calm winds with a temperature inversion.
3. Application Equipment
Must be used with specialized ULV cold fogging or thermal fogging equipment capable of producing droplets in the optimal size range (10-30 microns) for flying insects.

Safety & Storage

Environmental Safety: Highly toxic to bees and aquatic organisms. Do not apply near beehives or over open water bodies.

Human Safety: Although pyrethroids are safer for mammals, applicators must wear protective gear (respirator, goggles, gloves). Advise residents to keep windows closed during and for 30 minutes after spraying.

Storage: Store in a cool, dark, and well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed.
