Insecticide Gel Bait

FIPRONIL 0.05% GEL

A highly effective phenylpyrazole insecticide in a gel formulation for the control of ants and cockroaches. Its non-repellent, delayed-action formula allows pests to feed and return to their colony, transferring the toxicant for complete colony eradication.

Target Pests
Cockroaches & Ants
Mode of Action
GABA Blocker (Colony Kill)
Application
Residential & Commercial
Active: Fipronil 0.05% Formulation: Gel Bait Action: Delayed, Transfer Effect

Product Information

Mode of Action

Fipronil acts by blocking the GABA-gated chloride channels in the central nervous system of insects. This disruption causes hyperexcitation of the nerves and muscles, leading to paralysis and death. The gel formulation is a highly attractive food source. The key to its effectiveness is the delayed action, which allows the contaminated insect to return to the nest and transfer the bait to others through feeding or contact (the transfer effect), resulting in colony elimination.

Target Pests
  • Cockroaches: German Cockroach (Blattella germanica), American Cockroach (Periplaneta americana)
  • Ants: Pharaoh Ant (Monomorium pharaonis), Fire Ants (Solenopsis spp.), Carpenter Ants (Camponotus spp.)
Key Benefits

Non-repellent formula means pests are not deterred from feeding. The gel remains moist and attractive for an extended period. Provides effective control even against bait-averse strains.

Application Areas

Suitable Locations
  • Residential homes and apartments
  • Commercial kitchens and restaurants
  • Food processing and storage facilities
  • Hospitals and healthcare facilities
  • Hotels and hospitality venues
  • Industrial premises and warehouses
Application Points

Apply gel in cracks, crevices, corners, under appliances (refrigerators, stoves), behind cupboards, around pipe entry points, and other areas where pests harbour or forage.

Directions for Use

1. Preparation
Inspect the area to identify pest activity and harbourage sites. Remove other potential food sources (crumbs, grease) to make the bait more attractive. Do not use repellent insecticide sprays on or near the bait placements.
2. Application Technique
Apply the gel as small spots or thin beads in the identified areas. For cockroaches, place multiple small spots rather than fewer large ones. For ants, place spots near foraging trails and nest entrances.
3. Maintenance
Monitor the bait placements regularly. Replenish the gel if it has been consumed or has dried out. Continued presence of pests may indicate that more bait is needed or that the source of infestation has not been located.

Safety & Storage

Precautions: Do not apply gel to areas that are frequently washed or where food is prepared or handled on exposed surfaces. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the container tightly capped when not in use.
